Resolution Endorsing the Ideals and Founding Principles of the American Revolution

Adopted Unanimously by the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania on March 3rd 2024

 

Whereas, the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania is committed to upholding the principles of individual liberty, self-determination, and free markets; and

Whereas, the American Revolution serves as a pivotal moment in history, embodying the spirit of freedom, self-governance, and resistance against tyranny; and

Whereas, patriotic organizations, appropriately vetted, preserving the legacy and ideals of the American Revolution share with Libertarians a deep appreciation for its underlying values; and

Whereas, forming common ground and coalitions with such organizations can strengthen our collective efforts to uphold and advance the principles of liberty and self-determination;

Be it resolved, that the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania hereby endorses the ideals and founding principles of the American Revolution, including but not limited to:

  1. The unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
  2. Self-determination and decentralization, with powers derived from the consent of the governed.
  3. The rule of law applied equally to all individuals.
  4. The right to self-defense and resistance against oppressive governments.
  5. Free and open markets, fostering innovation, prosperity, and individual autonomy.

Be it further resolved, that the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania commits to fostering dialogue, collaboration, and partnership with such patriotic organizations, with the shared goal of promoting and preserving the legacy and values of the American Revolution and advancing the cause of liberty for all individuals.

Be it finally resolved, that this resolution be disseminated to members of the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania, as well as to relevant stakeholders and organizations, to signify our commitment to the ideals of freedom and to encourage broader cooperation in pursuit of our shared objectives.
