Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania Calls for End to War on Cryptocurrency, Demands Release of Crypto Innovators

Harrisburg, PA – The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania (LPPA) has passed a resolution demanding an end to federal overreach in the cryptocurrency space and calling on the Trump administration to uphold its stated commitment to digital freedom, decentralization, and financial innovation.

The resolution reaffirms LPPA’s unwavering support for digital privacy and decentralization as essential components of individual liberty in the modern age. It also condemns policies such as Operation Chokepoint 2.0, initiated under the Biden administration, which targeted cryptocurrency businesses and innovators through banking discrimination and regulatory intimidation.

“The war on crypto is a war on economic freedom,” said Greg Deal, Chair of the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania. “It’s time to end Operation Chokepoint, free Ian Freeman, and stop prosecuting innovators.”

The resolution also draws attention to specific prosecutions and imprisonments that LPPA considers unjust, including the cases of Roman Storm, Roger Ver, and Ian Freeman—all individuals involved in cryptocurrency development or use who are facing or serving severe penalties for their involvement.

The LPPA calls on the Trump administration to:

  • Immediately drop all charges against Storm, Ver, and other innovators targeted for their work in cryptocurrency,
  • Secure the prompt release of Ian Freeman from federal prison,
  • Dismantle Operation Chokepoint and all related policies,
  • Guarantee the right of individuals and businesses to operate freely in the digital asset space.

With Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump and Vice Presidential nominee J.D. Vance publicly promising to end regulatory attacks on cryptocurrency, the LPPA demands the administration to honor these commitments with decisive action.

“Ending the war on cryptocurrency must be more than a campaign promise—it must be a policy priority,” the resolution states. “Liberty demands nothing less.”

The LPPA encourages its members and allies across Pennsylvania to join in advocating for digital privacy, decentralization, and a truly free market in technology. The party remains committed to defending innovators and builders who dare to challenge the centralized financial and surveillance systems of the modern state.
