Quarterly Board Meeting of The Libertarian Party Of Pennsylvania

Minutes as recorded by Steven Brenize Secretary of the LPPA

 

Meeting was opened by Chair Drew Bingaman at 12:00PM. The secretary verified the current number of affiliates with a board vote at 13. Allegheny, Bradford, Bucks, Capitol, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, Susquahanna Valley, Washington and York Therefore voting and motion making ability at the meeting was granted to all members of the executive board, all chairs of the standing committees, and any county/region representatives certified to have a board vote. Participation in debate was affirmed as a right of any dues paying member of the LPPA.

Number of Voting Members established at 13 plus chair in the event of a tie.

7 votes needed for passage of motions.

Chairman Bingaman Reported that he spoke at a fair districts rally and spoke about recent results of lawsuits. Has been working with secretary to set up Convention.

 

Western Vice-Chair Vesley reported that he has actively been campaigning for Drew Miller in special election and focusing southwestern activity on those efforts. Has been reaching out to new members in the western region and trying to work on forming new affiliates.

 

Central Vice-Chair Sloane reported that Capitol area is doing well. There is a candidate in state house district 98. Centre Mifflin, and Juniata Merged, Joe Soloski is running for state house. Susquehanna Valley is looking for a state house candidate.

 

Secretary Brenize reported that he worked with various volunteers to create press releases and content for the LPPA website. Continues to Post articles on webpage and manage social media. Continues forwarding requests to counties or vice-chairs when requests come in for running for office or information. Has been working with chair and other volunteers to set up convention. Reported that the following votes took place during call ins.

Nomination of Steve Scheetz and Roy Minot

(Alternate) to the LNC Platform Committee.

Motion passed 5-2-2

 

Treasurer Soloski reported that the LPPA has an unappropriated balance of 12,408.35 , 2,637.63 in the endowment fund for a total of 15,045.98.

 

Membership Committee reported that Greg is grabbing data and we currently have 266 members. We have 109 memberships that have expired in last year and Alison is working to send out notifications to them and upcoming expirations. We are focused on retention. David was given the list for western.

 

Elections Committee continues working to identify candidates and get tools ready. We have over 40 people interested in running for state house and multiple individuals interested in state senate and congressional positions.

 

Legislative committee continues to evaluate legislation to support for official stances leading to press releases. Held an event in York County on redistricting legislation.

 

Media Relations continues to need more volunteers. Newsletters are been submitted on time. Articles continue to rotate on the website. Facebook has been focused on Drew Miller and the convention.

 

Finance committee is working on pre sales of T-shirts to have funds long term fundraiser projects. There will also be multiple items auctioned at convention. Active solicitation of funds will take place at convention in an effort to have signs, bumper stickers, literature, etc.

 

Website committee reported that the nation builder website is progressing.

 

The following Motions passed without objection.

 

To Allocate $125 for name tags and decorations for the convention.

 

To add Glenn Tuttle and Chad Desanits Media Relations Committee and Dan Sullivan to Website Committee.

 

To request the treasurer to credit a sub account for literature.

 

To add Jennifer Moore as an editor of the facebook page.

 

To create a working committee focused on voter registration/grassroots with members Marc Bozzacco, Jessica Santiago, Gus Tatlas, and Jake Towne . 11-0-1

 

Motion to Allocate $200 to create a face book recruitment program by the elections committee. Passed (9-3)
